TÜV History

 

 

 

TÜV is the acronym for German Technischerüberwachüngs-Verein, which means German Technical Supervision Association

 

The German Steam Boiler Supervision Association was established in 1871.This organization is the predecessor of Germany TÜV; in 1877, 80 steam boiler inspectors jointly established TÜV; in 1900, the DUV was responsible for testing the first car and supervising driving license examinations; in 1918, the DUV business expanded to minerals And energy sector; in 1936 the DUV was renamed TÜV.

 

After 1945, the technical supervision association's business areas were further expanded: medical and psychological assessment, nuclear energy, environmental protection, quality and environmental management systems. The Technical Supervision Association assumes responsibility for all technical areas that have an impact on safety. This responsibility continues to this day.

 

With the continuous improvement of German industrial quality, TÜV, as an independent, impartial and professional quality supervision agency, has gradually become a synonym for quality with its quality recognition and system certification.
