EU issues new RoHS directive
Release date:
2018-01-17 15:26
The European Commission has issued a new version of the EU 2017/2102 Hazardous Substances Directive for Electronic and Electrical Products. The newly issued directive clarifies the revised directive 2011/65 / EU. The new directive removes the requirements for electronic and electrical products operated in the secondary market for the purpose of repairs, replacement parts, refurbishment and reuse, and modification. Therefore, fully complying with the requirements of the new directive before July 22, 2019 will bring unnecessary management pressure to the subject of the secondary market operation as described above. The new version of the directive also excludes some specially targeted products, because the harmful substances in these special products have little effect on the environment or health. These products include: certain types of lead alloy tubing in-line, as no alternatives are currently available; and off-road mobile machines with on-board power operated by professionals only.
